The reps will use Bulk Breakers and Redistributors as their home base and will call on these Bulk Breakers and Redistributors, top taverns and spazas in that specified area (zone). They will be tasked with activating all the FMCG sales drivers at store level. These are quality, distribution, visibility, persuasion, promotion, price as well as placing the order.

Increasingly affluent black township-based consumers are keen to demonstrate their individuality and affluence through ‘badging’ when interacting with products. However, these mobile consumers are becoming aware of the differences between the offering they see in the Formal On-Trade versus what they experience in township outlets (which should not exist).

Education of bar staff and consumers is very haphazard in the Main Market with a general lack of formal market training exposure. It is Libra’s mission to give the South African consumer a choice over and above the beer that they’ve only been exposed to.
